Schools Out
Well Son has left his first school and the great gap of the 6 weeks of 'fun' is upon us.
Leaving first school has a number of benefits for me of course.
- I won't need to be standing out in the playground trying to work out which group of mothers I'm supposed to be affiliated to.
- I won't be screaming and shouting at 3 kids in the morning now just 2.
- I won't have to face the teachers and there never ending looks of pity when they try to tell me that Son has, hit someone, told tales on someone, forgotten something, etc etc.
Although I moan about the start of the school holidays I did have a little indulgence this morning, I was able to lay in bed listening to the moans and whines instead of being in the middle of it.
Being a mother of 3 I find there is nowhere to hide, I managed until 8 this morning, Partner had disappeared to work, so he says, but I am starting to think he deliberately gets up at 5 and leaves the house at 5.30 especially to wander the fields of West Dorset rather than spend a Saturday with us! 2nd daughter decided it would be good to give me a fashion parade before I'd even opened eyes, while Son and 1st daughter decided to scream at each other that each had the right to the nosiest appliance. It was the stand off of the DS versus the TV.
I have decided to make it my mission this holiday to denit the whole family and keep them clean and squeaky for at least the whole of the summer as long as we isolate ourselves from any other children below the age of 10 we should make it.
One child down two to go. I'd given up and decided to decamp to parents for some moral support.
Suitable fed and watered by my ma and pa, I had a lapse of sense and decided it was educational interests that where needed to get me and the brood through the holidays. So I hit the Library!
Why?
Son walked around saying there was nothing to read apart from one Dr Who book (we'll be hearing a lot more about Dr Who if this blog goes on further than the end of the week).
Daughters decided they wanted all the books they could carry. Now Daughter No 1 can read at a very very slow pace but had decided that books on mermaids and teenagers where the best things since sprinkles on fairy cakes, took an instant dislike to me suggesting that she may find them a little difficult to read, decided to throw herself on the ground and sob.
Daughter No 2 just wanted a wee and now!!!!!
When a kindly Librarian decided that they may want to sign up for the Summer Challenge my look of horror and comments like oh maybe another day/they wouldn't be interested, where met with my son pleading oh mum I really want to do this why can't I.
An hour later and a very dishevelled mother and three children left the building!
God only knows how long my stamina is going to last. But if I have to read another book on mermaids I think I'll scream!!!!!!!!
